Cédric Ricardo Alves Soares, ou apenas Cédric, nasceu a 31 de Agosto de 1991 em Singen, na Alemanha. Filho de pais emigrantes, foi para Portugal com 2 anos de idade. Com 8 anos começou jogar no Sporting Clube de Portugal, onde já jogava o seu irmão Kevin Soares. Fez toda a formação no clube até se estrear na equipa principal a 4 de Novembro de 2010, frente ao Gent.

Na época 2011/2012 jogou por empréstimo na Académica de Coimbra, onde conquistou a Taça de Portugal, numa final jogada contra… o Sporting Clube de Portugal. Na temporada seguinte, 2012/2013, regressou a Lisboa para representar o Sporting.

Durante 3 épocas ocupou o seu lugar no lado direito da defesa leonina, até que, em 2015/2016, rumou até Inglaterra para representar o Southampton FC, naquele que foi o maior passo na sua ainda curta, mas promissora carreira. No ano de estreia na Premier League contribuiu para o 6º lugar alcançado pelo Southampton FC, garantido assim que o clube marcaria presença na Liga Europa pelo segundo ano consecutivo.

As prestações na Premier League valeram a chamada à Seleção de Portugal, para representar o seu país no Euro 2016. O Euro 2016 foi o ponto mais alto da carreira, uma vez que Portugal se sagrou Campeão da Europa.

Cédric Soares, or just Cédric, was born on August 31, 1991 in Singen, Germany. Son of migrant parents, he went to Portugal with 2 years old. He was 8 years old when he started playing in Sporting Clube de Portugal, where he has played with his brother Kevin Soares.

He made all his youth process at the club until his debut in the first team on November 4, 2010, against Gent. In the 2011/2012 season he played on loan at Académica de Coimbra, where he won the Cup of Portugal in a final against… Sporting Clube de Portugal. The following season, 2012/2013 , he returned to Lisbon to represent Sporting.

During three seasons he took his place on the right side of the leonine defense until 2015/2016, when he headed to England to represent the Southampton FC, in what was the biggest step in his short but promising career. In his debut year in the Premier League, Cédric contributed to the 6th place achieved by Southampton FC, ensuring that the club would be present in the Europa League for the second consecutive year.

His exibitions in the Premier League earned the call to Portugal National Team, to represent his country at the Euro 2016. Euro 2016 was the highest point of his career, since Portugal was crowned European Champion.
